The Cavern

In this study I used Unreal Engine 5.1 in an attempt to see how much detail I could add to with natural geometry before the scene would drop below 40 frames per second.

Utilizing Nanite geometry, 8K texture maps, and Lumen I was able to maintain over 40 frames and still add a Niagara particle system for dust in the air. The entire scene was lit with a single directional light source to mimic the sun with global illumination and volumetric fog adjustments to achieve the look I wanted.
