ARPG Invasion Mechanics

Core design and a mockup integration with Blizzard's Diablo 4

Base Mechanics

This original idea stemmed from my love of World of Warcraft world events and the lore and core gameplay loops of ARPG games, while asking the question "What would a cool two-week war look like in the game?" and "How fun could I make it?"

A blend of MMO cooperative events with many of the common gameplay loops of current ARPG games allows seamless modification and integration of the gameplay into games like DIablo 4.

Diablo 4 Integrated Mechanics

To integrate the design mechanics into Diablo 4 I had to think of how it would merge seamlessly with the existing world and lore. This modification of the mechanics was easy as the cooperative elements of Diablo 4 and current times events are similar.

The gameplay is broken down into a large over two weeks. Players have the opportunity to work together and receive highly coveted reward and gear drops. 

Below I have included two detailed design documents to show in more detail the core loops and how it integrates with the game.
